Canada breaks the silence on NDAs

“Prince Edward Island is the first province in Canada to pass legislation limiting the use of non-disclosure agreements. For more than 20 years, Zelda Perkins stayed silent about what she experienced while working for Harvey Weinstein because she was bound by an NDA that swore her to secrecy. But now she’s speaking out and fighting for other victims put in her position. That fight went global when she teamed up with Canadian legal scholar Julie Macfarlane this year. Perkins and Macfarlane join Chattopadhyay to discuss their role in passing new legislation around NDAs on PEI, why they’ve taken on this cause, and their plans for the rest of the country and beyond.”
